Triad/Holmes Associates (THA) is
a full-service civil engineering and land surveying
firm that has been providing professional services
in California for over 30 years with extensive experience
in both land development and public works infrastructure
projects. THA’s services encompass all phases
of project development including feasibility studies,
planning, design, construction support services, and
all aspects of surveying and mapping. The firm serves
a broad range of private and public sector clients
through seven offices with a combined staff of over
70 employees. Offices are presently located in the
Eastern Sierra, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Central
Coast, and Napa Valley.
THA’s engineers and surveyors are experienced
in a wide variety of projects and utilize the latest
CAD systems and design software. Final products can
be delivered in either electronic or hard copy format
as required by the Client. The firm also employs the
latest inter-office communication technology.
THA has established an excellent reputation within
its service areas. The company communicates and works
closely with its Clients, consulting teams, and public
agencies to develop creative solutions and deliver
high quality products. The firm’s broad regional
experience continues to contribute to its extensive
knowledge and information base, making THA an invaluable

COMPANY HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY
THA originated in California’s Eastern Sierra,
created by the merger of Triad Engineering and Holmes
Engineering and Development Company in 1994. Triad
Engineering was originally established in Mammoth
Lakes in 1979 and Holmes Engineering and Development
Company in Bishop in 1963. The two full-service civil
engineering and surveying companies served a broad
client base in Inyo and Mono Counties. This broad
geographic region provided THA with very diverse project
knowledge that significantly enhanced its capacity
to develop the best engineering solutions for its
Clients. Since 1994, THA has added five offices serving
an area extending from the Sierras west to the Pacific
Coast and from Napa Valley south to Santa Barbara.
The company principals and managers realize that
the success of THA is directly related to the success
of its Clients and employees. THA pays personal attention
to each Client and works hard to build lasting client
relationships. The firm prides itself in the high

THA understands that time and money are always significant

To meet these client needs, a company Principal or
Branch Manager is assigned to each project to provide
quality assurance and consistent service throughout
the length of the contract. In addition, because of
its ability to pool company assets, any THA office
has access to added resources as required to meet
challenging deadlines on projects of all sizes. The
firm has the proven ability to develop and maintain
project specific schedules and keep work within budget.
